Now that Steve is done with the Radiography program...it's time to specialize. A lot applied..he was chosen!!
He got accepted into Weber State's Ultrasound program!!
It's a 4 semester program. He starts in August. He will be finished Dec 2013. The program is all online. Every 6 weeks he will travel to Ogden for some tests/lectures. His clinical site is Jordan Valley hospital in West Jordan. His clinical hours will be 25 hrs a week. But that doesn't start untill January. Since right now- Steve is a rad- tech but has to be available 24/7 for exams, by January he will be able to go to work during the day and then go over to Jordan Valley for his clinical hrs at night. A way awesome thing is a mix of grants and his work will be paying for this program. (thank goodness, no more student loans!) Off the the side great thing is- we want to have an October baby next year. And it seems like perfect timing to have a baby and just 2 mos later- he'll be done!! Another great thing, is that his company he works for now doing x-rays is need of an ultrasound tech. So once he's done with the program, he can stay within the same company and move to being an ultrasound tech :) It's cool to think any of my friends if you are prego after Dec 2013 and wanna know the sex of your baby, but you've got a doctor's appt that is months away...hop right on over and he can do an ultrasound on you!!! ha ha! He says the equipment is much lighter and smaller than his x-ray equipment, that has to be kept in a car.
That's about all the info we have right now! Excited to further the process of education. And happy to know the more education the more Mula!!!!
Loves!
